I led the technical test team.
I was the QA manager, Scrum Master and tech leader for a customer-facing team of test engineers and defect managers. In addition to this I was a CAB impact-assessor, as well as the escalation point for our external customers.
I set up and managed the test lab and equipment.
I provisioned and managed the DCC Arqiva test lab and its equipment, including smart electricity and gas meters, communication hubs, pre-payment devices, in-home displays and other diagnostic equipment.
I regularly set and managed senior stakeholder expectations.
I achieved this by maintaining open, honest and regular communication channels with senior project personnel including programme and project managers, directors and various third-party suppliers.
I was a line manager, recruiter and mentor.
I assessed candidate CVs, conducted interviews and made hiring decisions into my team. I also had line manager duties, including resource profiling, workload distribution, timesheet approvals and team development.

As part of the Government’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions and help consumers lower household energy bills, smart electricity and gas meters are being rolled out to all homes across the UK by 2024.
Arqiva have been appointed as the responsible organisation for delivering the technology behind this new smart communications network for the North of the UK, working closely with and ultimately accountable to the DCC.
